The majority of my work involves the provision of written advice.
I also;
- represent parties at An Bord Pleanála Oral Hearings
- undertake various types of negotiations especially with Local Authorities
- draft documents, for example letters and submissions
- join multi-disciplinary teams advocating/resisting a planning application
- provide teaching/training in Planning Law, in person or online
- make presentations on the Planning and Development Act 2024
I add particular value in complex matters involving extensive documentation and demanding attention to detail. A word that has been used to describe me throughout my career is “thorough”.
I do not undertake Court work. Court advocacy is inevitably unpredictable in its (significant) time commitment. I choose to control my own schedule which enables me to keep my commitments on the delivery of written work. I have a 100% record of delivering written work on time.
I work across all aspects of terrestrial Irish Planning and Environmental Law.
I have undertaken work in connection with;
- ‘one off’ houses to 1600 unit residential developments
- single unit industrial estate commercial developments to one of the largest industrial facilities of its type in western Europe
- all kinds of road schemes ranging from temporary development site access routes to major by-passes
- planning applications from a straightforward residential extension to the complexity of Dublin’s Metrolink project in which I represented a group of local residents at the 23 day An Bord Pleanála Oral Hearing
In addition to the above, I have undertaken work in respect of wind farms, hotels, medical buildings, industrial farming operations, battery energy storage systems, data-centres, mid-size retail projects, cycle tracks, migrant accommodation and more.
I have dealt with applications to local Planning Authorities and applications and appeals to the Board (including oral hearings).
If there is anything outside of the above that I may be able to help you with then I am happy to have a conversation if you would like to contact me
