I first became interested in Planning in the late 1980s. I was a very young elected Councillor in what is now the City of Brighton & Hove in the UK. In 1991, I qualified as a Barrister in England and Wales where I pursued a general practice including environmental law, Judicial Review, commercial matters, and Local Authority work.
Before moving to Ireland, my wife and I set up a Consultancy in northern British Columbia, Canada, working primarily with the resource sector (mining and LNG) concerned in particular with environmental regulation in the upgrade and maintenance of remote airstrips.
Since my qualification as a Barrister in Ireland, I have specialised exclusively in Irish Planning and Environmental Law. I hold an Advanced Diploma in Planning and Environmental Law from King’s Inns.
